Delicious cookie recipe
This recipe serves from 9-12 people and is one of the best recipes out there! Crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside.
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
Half a teaspoon of baking powder
Half a teaspoon of salt
8 tablespoons or 1 stick of butter at room temperature
3/4 cup of granulated sugar
3/4 cup of light brown sugar
Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 large egg
6 ounces of milk chocolate chips (or whatever toppings you want)
Method:
Wet ingredients: Mix the butter and light brown sugar in one bowl (using a hand or stand mixer is recommended.) Then slowly add in the egg and follow in with the vanilla extract.
Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking powder, granulated sugar and salt (if you don't want a mess in your kitchen, you can use a wooden spoon instead.) Mix until well combined.
While mixing the wet ingredients, slowly add in the dry ingredients (be careful not to do it all at once since you will have a hard time mixing and the cookie dough won't have the same dough-like texture.)
The recommended amount to add in each time is about a 1/3 cup every 5-8 seconds. Once all the dry ingredients have been mixed with the wet ingredients, add in all the chocolate chips or any other toppings you've decided to add instead and begin to fold them in slowly, to avoid breaking the chocolate chips (if you have decided to add any other toppings then you can safely ignore this step.)
Prepare your trays for your cookie dough and preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celcius or 350 degrees Fahrenheit, if you don't have a non-stick baking tray, lay your tray with greaseproof baking paper. Add a third of the cookie dough onto your tray and level it out to make sure there are no excess bits going onto the tray. Space them out adequately to make sure the cookies don't join together during the baking process.
After you are done preparing your trays with the baking paper and cookie dough, place them in your oven and bake them for 7-9 minutes or until its a light-brown looking colour. After the cookies have been baked, take them out of the oven and let them cool down for 2-3 minutes, this process will stop the cookies from sticking to the tray while attempting to remove the cookies off the tray and the cookies will start to change from the light-brown colour to a golden-brown colour, you may also notice the cookies will deflate a little bit after taking them out.
After the cookies have cooled down, put them on a plate, get a glass of milk and enjoy!
